Taiji is an intenal Chinese martial art that has evolved into a sequence of soft and slow movements that are co-ordinated with the mind and the breath. Taiji emphasizes the principles of relaxation, softening the body and yielding both in its application and in daily life.


Initial practice of Taiji consists of learning to relax the body and quieten the mind. The whole body is worked with Taiji; leg muscles become stronger, back muscles are strengthened, awareness of stress and tensions held within the body becomes noticable
